
Chakras
The chakras are energy centers contained within the body which correspond to various physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs. Though there are many chakras throughout the body, there are seven main chakras, starting from the base of the spine and progressing up to the crown of the head. They include the Root/Muladhara Chakra, the Sacral/Svadhistana Chakra, the Solar Plexus/Manipura Chakra, the Heart/Anahata Chakra, the Throat/Vishuddha Chakra, the Third Eye/Ajna Chakra, and the Crown/Sahasrara Chakra. Chakra imbalances impact physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health, and yoga practices aid in balancing the chakras for optimal health and progression toward spiritual liberation.
